That awkward moment when....

I found out purely from working in a restaurant that pregnant women cannot eat cheese if it's not pasteurized. After having many pregnant women ask me if our cheese was pasteurized I checked out our packages to inform myself for future reference. One day a lady asked me if our feta cheese was pasteurized, and without any thought I blurted out "you are fine if you are pregnant, the cheese is pasteurized." Her girlfriends sitting next to her all turned to her and started to stare her down. I am pretty sure the woman was recently pregnant and hadn't told anyone yet. Oops. Man did I feel like an idiot. Thankfully the woman was nice and did not make a big commotion, and has come back since then.
